Mössbauer Spectroscopy

Physics-accurate simulations · Select a technique

Mössbauer spectroscopy probes nuclear hyperfine interactions via recoil-free gamma-ray emission and absorption (¹⁴.4 keV for ⁵⁷Fe). Each technique — from conventional transmission to synchrotron nuclear forward scattering — reveals magnetic order, valence state, local symmetry, and phonon dynamics with meV-to-neV energy resolution. Gamma / X-ray colors encode energy relative to the nuclear resonance.
