Mössbauer Spectroscopy

Physics-accurate simulations · Select a technique

Mössbauer spectroscopy reads nuclear hyperfine interactions through recoil-free gamma-ray emission and absorption (14.4 keV for ⁵⁷Fe). From conventional transmission through synchrotron nuclear forward scattering, these techniques resolve magnetic order, valence, local symmetry, and phonon dynamics with meV-to-neV energy resolution. Gamma / X-ray colors indicate energy relative to the nuclear resonance.
